Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and are easily distinguished by their bright blue colour. If the surface comes into contact with (air) moisture, the surface develops a rust layer. This has a sweet flavour and naturally stimulates saliva production. The horse produces more foam and accepts the bit better. The rust changes the colour from blue to silver/grey/brown. If the bit is not used for a while, a thin layer of orange rust may form. This can be easily wiped off with a damp cloth.

Double-jointed and shaped to the mouth - this makes the bit lie more loosely in the mouth. Pressure is exerted most strongly on the tongue, but also on the bars and corners of the mouth. Use caution in case of narrow jaws! The hinge points can press on the bars and cause wounds.

As a 3-ring bit, this model offers various buckling options. This allows the leverage to be changed and the pressure on the poll to be regulated.
