Features & Advantages

  • Support for the intestines
  • Highly absorbent husks
  • High mucus content

Item no.: STH-005611, Content: 1.000 g, EAN: 9120098600782

Description

Every time horses eat, whether it's from a a fresh pasture or straw and hay, they ingest sand and earth along with it. Small amounts are excreted naturally from the intestine without further problems. Larger amounts, however, place a heavy strain on the intestines and can lead to diarrhoea, constipation and even severe colic.

The highly absorbent husks of psyllium seeds have a particularly high mucous content. They absorb sand, earth, toxins and bacteria in the intestine and safely expel them from the body through faeces, thereby supporting intestinal function.

NOTE ON QUALITY:
The quality of psyllium seeds depends very much on where they are grown. India has the best growing conditions worldwide. Starhorse® psyllium seeds are grown 100% in India and thus offer the highest quality.

ANTI-DOPING GUARANTEE:
Since our products have been used in top international sports for years, it is of the highest priority for us to guarantee our customers 100% doping-free product quality.

Feeding recommendation:
Continuous feeding of psyllium is not advisable, as this would lose its effectiveness.

TIP :
Starhorse® psyllium husk can also be used for nutritional support in case of diarrhoea and faecal water, as the seeds can absorb a lot of liquid due to their excellent absorption capacity.

WHAT ELSE YOU SHOULD KNOW:
It is not easy for a horse owner to determine whether a horse's intestinal tract is contaminated with too much sand and soil. Veterinarian Dr. Faulstich from the Brandenburg Equine Clinic recommends a simple but very effective self-test to find out.
Take 6 fresh horse droppings from a pile and stir into half a litre of water until fully mixed in. Wait briefly for the sand to sink to the bottom. Carefully pour out the water. The result should not be more than a tablespoon of sand.
