In its function as a high-energy roughage, Alfalfa MIX offers interesting application possibilities, especially in sports and breeding. Lucerne has a high proportion of essential, including sulfur-containing amino acids, the need for which is significantly increased in sports and breeding. In competitive sports, alfalfa mix relieves the horse of excessive starch intake in large grain rations.
By adding Alfalfa MIX to cereals, the ratio of calcium to phosphorus is improved and the ration is enriched with natural minerals, vitamins and plant fibres. The high proportion of fermentable fiber is partly responsible for the high energy content of the alfalfa.
Folding the chopped alfalfa under the grain ration increases the volume of concentrate, encourages chewing and thus supports digestion. The high level of hygiene with consistent quality protects the immune system from the mould and dirt contamination that is often underestimated in roughage. The additional treatment with molasses and vegetable oils creates a dust-free product with natural preservation. The practical handling of Lucerne MIX is popular at tournaments and trips.
Feeding recommendation:
Approx. 150 - 500g per 100kg bodyweight and day with normal forage made of hay / straw / pasture grass.
Alfalfa Mix can be given as a concentrate, especially as a grain substitute. 1 litre = approx. 200g
