Description
Psyllium seeds are known for their digestive properties. In combination with water, the grey-brown seeds develop an enormous mucilage power, which is up to seven times greater than that of linseed. Due to their mucilage-forming fibre, they can keep the horse's stool watery in the large intestine and promote easier elimination. Psyllium seeds offer the additional advantage of not forming intestinal gas.
Feeding recommendation:
Feed 3-5 level measuring cups at 500 kg/LG per animal per day. (1 level measuring cup contains 20 g psyllium seeds).
Psyllium seeds are not normally soaked. However, in case of constipation problems, they can be soaked in water beforehand.
Important: When feeding psyllium seeds, always make sure that the horse has enough fresh water available.
